Green designs
It's not funny. Been slogging all weekend to finish off work n study a bit, and trying to find time in all this for all that means a world to me. It seems ages since I photographed or found some time to observe and feel space, faces and objects(those things need to be taken in first). My instincts are on the verge, anyways, I shall be free soon and I just need to tune in back to find the inspiration...
Meanwhile, my quest for green designs in all quarters took me to different spots. Must mention a few inspiring ideas. I know plastic has been striked out as being not-so-green, but where is the choice. I mean, look around, almost everything from water to softdrinks and stuff comes in plastic bottles or cans. I recently saw the Lekker glass water bottles that look just like plastic except that they are not. Designed by an Italian design house Seletti it appears that the design is inspired by their plastic counterparts. The 1-litre bottle can hold upto 1 liter and has a cute glass cap. I think they are great for serving wine, water and drinks.
This May, I saw some bamboo lamps by Schmitt at the ICFF show in NYC, and found them quite inspiring. There were other sustainable designs that caught the eye--Low chair by Cate & Helson, tables made from car parts, and the Black Canvas series by eight renowned designers--Botanist ecofriendly designs.
On organic bedding, the Area Organic Bedding by one of my fave designers Anki Spets is simply fantastic. Check out the Area mini organic
Therez more coming up on organic and green designs....
